I created this blog with one purpose in mind, to make myself a better writer. Unlike some out there, I wasn’t born with an innate ability to churn out one masterpiece after another. However, through diligence, hard work, and study, I feel that I can achieve my goal of being a published author one day in the very, very distant future. I’ve always had an interest in writing. The small writing projects I did in the past were fun, but reeked of kid-like, amateurish writing…much like today. Having said that, I am not a professional writer and the information I post on this blog is what I’ve picked up on my way to learning the craft and decided to share with you. In a sense, this blog will be a history of my growth in writing.
My motivation to become a better writer comes from the countless books I’ve read as well as the always-encouraging words of my family. Among all of the books out there, the mystery/suspense/horror genres really get me going. The horror genre is really where I want to concentrate my writing, as it’s the only thing that can really send my imagination into a frenzy these days. For those of you who’ve read my short stories, I’m sure you can tell how far my imagination can really go.
So, now you know my motivation behind this blog, but do you really know me yet? Now it’s time to get a bit more personal.
My name is Victor, aka 1ConfusedWriter. I am a 29-year-old IT/GIS professional, living in North Carolina, who used to work in the private sector, but now work in a government job. I am a bachelor and find that I love the life for the time it allows me to pursue my dreams, which are too numerous to list.
If there were a phrase(s) that could adequately describe me, it would be:
“Jack of all trades, master of none” - I like a lot (and try a lot) of things, but only really have a passion for a few: Family, reading, writing (currently working and finishing up a non-fiction book), and dogs (love the furry little creatures, especially Pugs).
…or maybe…
“I reject your reality and substitute my own” – This line is perfect for those who have a wild imagination and are constantly asking, “What if?” That’s me. It’s kind of a perfect line for fiction writing, don’t you think?
So, that’s about all I can think of to share with you (and all the time I’m allotted to keep you here I suppose). It’s not a super exciting life (yet), but I enjoy it. If I can think of anything else to add to this entry, I will. Also, feel free to email me at anytime if you have any questions.
